So I called [tag]Apple[/tag] tech support for my busted [tag]Ibook[/tag], here is an excerpt from the call:
[thumb:256:l]
Apple tech: how may I help you today?
me: my computer won’t boot (I then explained the symptoms and stuff)
Apple tech: so it wont start up huh?
me: pretty much
Apple tech: okay here is what I am going to do, I will email you the steps to fix the issue and email you a link about the battery recall
me: email it to me? is that a good idea
Apple tech: suure same email addy?
me: yup anything else?
Apple tech: nope I hope those emails help you
me: ummmmmm thanks right.
So apparently standard procedure for non-booting laptops is to email the owner the steps to resolve the issue. ummm does no one else see the issue with that?
unfortunately I am still having the same issues I was having, I thought I had resolved them but my logic board is still in the process of failing me. luckily i will be able to back my pictures up online before it dies out completely

Dammit dammit to hell
I need a new video board for my ibook, the damn wire that leads up to the screen has finally worn out.
So I have two options, get it fixed. Or rob a gas station and get a macbook.
granted I did get two years out of the old girl but still

I think the culture [tag]shock[/tag] from landing in [tag]Florida[/tag] is finally starting to wear off. When I first got here, this place seemed a lot more alien than [tag]Germany[/tag] did at first. Unfortunately for me I live in the [tag]tourist[/tag] sector of town. Which means everything has mouse ears on it, and I am miles away from anything useful like a library. Sadly it means I also pay tourist prices for food, if you want to get laughed at go to a [tag]McDonald’s[/tag] here and ask to see the dollar menu. My buddy Cherry and I have been hitting the free breakfasts at the local hotels for the past two weeks to help keep cost down, as well as crashing hotel hot tubs just because they are there.

Sad part is, in the short time I have been here I am already getting really antsy to start traveling again. I don’t think I am burned out on my job yet, but the voices telling me to pack up and hit the road again are getting really loud. I have had to talk myself out of hitchhiking out of town a few times already. Unfortunately if i want to continue eating everyday on the next leg of my trip I need to wait five more weeks before I head out. Granted I could Possibly leave sooner if I decided to work double shifts, but since I feel half dead right now from a 9 hour day preceded by a 14 hour day. It just doesn’t seem realistic.
At this point I am pretty much committed to cycling across country solo next, I by my bike next week and I already have a route semi-plotted out. I just need to sit down and double check it before I end up with an unpleasant reminder that stupid hurts.

Normally I ride the bus into downtown Orlando and walk over into the ghetto to get my laundry done in an all night laundromat. I go there because I am always guaranteed a free entertainment from the locals whenever I visit . But this I went somewhere different because i was feeling less than excited about a hour long bus ride. I ended up in the hotel next the place where we store the pedal-cabs for work. While hanging out in the laundry room in just my shorts and shoes this redheaded girl saunters in to check on her laundry, I will admit to checking her out, I will go so far as to say I checked all of her out, I would even go so far as to say I took the time to admire the cleft of her ass in her bikini, but I digress as thats really not the point.
While she worked on getting her laundry transferred from the washer to the dryer, I worked on getting up the nerve to talk to her. Luckily I managed to and we ended up chatting for a bit. Eventually in a rare display of forwardness I offered to to take her out for ice-cream. Surprisingly enough she accepted. Before we could go I had to do something with my laundry so I told her I would catch back up with her. After taking my laundry where It needed to be, I returned to her hotel room. Where I found that I had interrupted her attempt at a quick shower. She invited me in and dashed back into the bathroom with her towel, but we continue talking through the door. Once she comes out of the bathroom I managed to coax her into showing me a little skin. On that note my new camera phone has it’s first official ass shot on it. Continue reading →
