There is one in town in my size, but being as it is the last one till next year, they are asking near $800 for it. It seems just a bit [tag]excessive[/tag] to me.
I made a big fuss about getting a [tag]fixed[/tag] gear [tag]bicycle[/tag], rode it about 3 times. Then I tried to die before losing it. Honestly I need a second bicycle like I need a hole in my head, but I rode Rocky’s fixed [tag]Trek[/tag] a few nights back and I really want my own fixie again.

Too bad the current budget doesn’t allow for such toys

After spending more time with the rest of the staff at work I realize part of the reason they stick me on spotlight night after night is because I have a longer attention span than the rest of them. Which is sad, because I have A.D.D just like everyone else.
We have had conversations literally go;
Them, “So what are the plans for the night.”
Me,”I am taking spot light?”
Them, “ohhhh a cat!”
While watching others work the spotlight, I have also seen it wander from off stage to random places in the crowd, or just quit moving all together. It can sometimes get pretty amusing.

My ears perk up and I look over to my co-worker Mike. He looks back and tells me “don’t worry it’s just a [tag]fire[/tag] [tag]engine[/tag].†I point at the flaming [tag]torch[/tag] in my hand before spitting one last ball of fire into the air and hissing the words, “did you forget we have been out here playing with fire!†He looks at me for a second before what was wrong with this picture clicks into place.
Mike and I were working [tag]security[/tag] on friday night and at about 2 a.m. and we had gotten bored. (It is funny how many of my stories involving the police start off that way.) We were out back trying to figure out a way to pass time when he pulls out a torch and some special sauce. And after a few minutes of practice we are having a good old time breathing fireballs up into the air.
And then the [tag]sirens[/tag] start.
First were the fire engine sirens. Since it was quickly getting closer we decided it was time to call an end to our [tag]fun[/tag] and games. I hand Mike the torch because I needed to get the special sauce off of my face and he begins to wave it in the air in an attempt to put it out. Note 1) that does not work. Note 2) if the guy standing next to you is highly flammable, don’t go waving around fire. Thankfully he had turned his back on me before waving the torch around, but it still freaked me out to hear the well known woosh of flames behind my back. I scream stop and show him the trick to putting it out and just in time to. The second we are done dousing the torch we see the all too familiar outline of a police Crown Victoria in the parking lot across the street. Its search light on obviously looking for the source of the disturbance.
Being that we were most definitely the source we decided it was time to make a hasty escape into the bar.

After finding out I had been scheduled to see a gynecologist I already knew where my day was headed. Luckily we got that sorted out fairly quickly and the nurses got me to a much needed neurology specialist.

To make a long and convoluted story short. Several hours of questions, poking, and prodding they realized odds are it is the medicine I am on thats actually been causing the moods swings, the confusion, and the depression. Most importantly the drugs may be responsible for the hallucinations, lets not forget those. I am sure the nurse I tackled hasn’t forgotten about it yet.
Anyway they decided to lower my dosage by about a quarter so hopefully we will no longer be paying 200 some odd dollars a week for meds any more since my doc cut the dosage by a quarter.

And there is now actually a piece of paper signed by a doctor saying dont drive or work for nine more months instead of just six.

I am amazingly happy now. The man I met last week who was up in the middle of the night painting a landscape of the city I talked about here. Private music and Public art.. Well he made the local newspaper today. A lot more people will get to see his wonderful works. Finding this out and seeing his picture on the page put a huge smile on my face

It’s 3 a.m. and I am riding my bicycle home from a another night at work. Getting to see the city asleep is an extremely rare opportunity for me, so I am relishing in the moment completely. Downtown Birmingham is completely different this time of morning.
The traffic light I am at turns red. The silence dances all around me, this never happens in the city during the day time. I throw my head back and look around for a bit to enjoy the moment. I just watch as the flashing colored lights and shadows play together on the sides of the buildings. Then the traffic light changes.

Click click click …I cycle through the gears I now have a tempo. My own steady breathing provides a bass line. The sharp buzz of my tires on the street rounds out this musical piece amazingly. My ride home now has a soundtrack. I look around at one point when something odd catches my eye. I see light where there shouldn’t be light, and I hear another piece of music where there shouldn’t be.

There is this private little art studio setup on the sidewalk. There are empty tubes of paint strewn everywhere and a canvas is setup with several flash lights shining towards it. In the middle of this there is an artist. He has a tablet in one hand and a brush in the other, his face itself is a portrait of sheer and total concentration. He is bent over his his canvas painting one of the most amazing paintings of my hometown I have ever seen, and that not nearly enough people will ever get to see. It is a shame I didn’t have my camera with me.

There was this girl at the bar I work at tonight who had an killer body and a great smile. So I spent part of my night flirting with her in a effort to pass time. Late in the night I just happened to the restroom right after she did, and of course she left the seat up.
Dammit!

Stupidhurts was down yesterday but that issue has been resolved. Thanks to everyone who sent me an email to remind me to get off my ass to fix it.
My online gallery has reached and passed 600 pictures recently, which is pretty awesome, but it is making it a bit of a challenge to administrate. I am working on it slowly trying to figure out an effective yet simple method of organization.
Friday night I went to a meeting with some of the local members of Couchsurfing.com. We ate a restaurant that has been a long time staple of Birmingham’s five points south district to talk about couch surfing and traveling. Then we moved to one of the local pubs for several rounds of darts and more storytelling.
