South/Latin America for New Years?

Greetings!

Headed south for New Years with a few friends (and a 1 year old baby), but we simply can't decide where. Preferably beachside, and not Mexico (been there too many times). We're thinking Nicaragua, but would be willing to spring for something more pricey (Ecuador, etc...). Any recommendations?

New years in Nica wasnt that different from most days... Nica's love fireworks and set them off all day everyday... I lived there for 7 months... But, Nica is a truely magical country, and I would completely suggest going there...
