Documentary idea..

Hi all, I have been living and working in China for nearly 5 years now. During that time I have come to know the ins and outs of English teaching. I thought that I would take what I know and seek some more knowledge on the way. I'd like to make a documentary about the business of teaching English in China.

My task to you is to give me some ideas as to what sort of information about this topic people would be interested in learning about. Some interview questions that I could ask either teachers, parents or business owners here in China...

Any help would be welcomed :) Cheers,

I'd wager that at one time or another all of us have consider the Teaching English option to help sustain our travels.

I'd say the biggest questions I had when I looked into it were:

How to start? go through a company or try to find employment on your own.
How much does it pay?
How much time off?
Do you need to know the other language?
Visa requirements?

I think those would be some basics that people would like to know.

Other than those questions about getting into that line of work, I would really be interested to see a day in the life. It would be neat, I think, to follow 4 or 5 teachers around for a day/week, whatever, and document how their lives carry out and in different regions of Asia.

I hope you end up making this, I would really enjoy seeings.

Those are some good questions and ideas Adam, Thanks. So far I have this much figured out haha : interview 2 of each- new teachers, mid teachers(2-4 years) and long time teachers(5+ years) one male, one female. Also I would like to follow each teacher around for a couple days and see them in and out of the classroom. Id also like to interview some of the bosses and business owners behind the schools, I have 4 of those that Id like the chance to sit down with...
