Motorcycle across Southeast Asia

Does anyone have any information about buying a motorcycle in SEA (Singapore, Malaysia, or Thailand) and riding it up through SEA (Viet, Cam, Laos, ect) To and through India. Have anyone done this? Part of this? or know any problems that will occur?

Although it seems that you are not able to transport a bike outside of Vietnam... although they say you may be able to 'persuade' someone

Thanks for the information. It helped out. Im look for more information on the crossings of boarders by land under my own power. I've traveled across boarders on trains, planes, and busses, but never in/on my own vehicle. How easy is it to travel across countries on my own motorcycle?
