Hello all. So I have about a month and a half off from work coming up (Feb/March) and I want to use this time to live somewhere abroad for that time. I am hoping to stay in one city or place and maybe do weekend trips here and there. I am currently in NYC.

My main question is since its winter I dont want anything so cold but I have been thinking about Prague (even though I am sure it will be freezing so I guess cold isnt really a factor). My main thing is I want to rent an apartment rather then do hostels. I have about $1700 to live off for the month. I was hoping to have a nice apartment in a good neighborhood and live OK. I will be cooking and so on

I know its very vague but any advice is appreciated. This will be my first attempt to live abroad for more then 2 weeks. Thanks in advance.

Hi Akkis!
Prague has an advantage that, like most places in eastern Europe its a lot cheaper than the west. Poland can also be a good way to go in that regard.

Why don't you go to the southern Euro states where its cheaper, warmer and also doubly cheaper cuz the European economy looks like its heading toward an open nose-dive. Like Spain, Portugal, Italy... the souther, the better :)
