Life Dreams

My dreams and deepest desires are...

to travel the world--not just travel, but live the world, explore it
to love
to learn spanish--the language of my grandfather--fluently and pass it on to my children, whenever they come along
to have children
to meet a man who loves me and whom I love with all my heart, travel and explore with him and our children, and grow old with him
to be brave enough to get up at open-mike night and let every drop of me come out
to be proud of who I am
to be courageous
to live in europe (spain or italy) and somewhere in asia
to just do whatever it is that my heart desires--not my whims, but my in-the-gut, hurt-my-heart-because-I-need-them-so-much desires
to love the people in my life in a way in which they know I love them unequivocally
to leave this earth with a smile on my face
to leave this earth having made it a better place for at least one person (but not because I died :blink2: !!)

there are many more...I feel them growing inside, but it's Mother's Day and I got people to feed!!! Thanks for reading and may your dreams come true too!!

There's some good stuff here eh. :D

This made me dig out my little purple notebook that has my lifelist in it (separate from travel list ;)) and I have about 85 items on it that I won't kill you guys by listing. :)

Some of them are:

10. Learn to pierce and tattoo
35. Learn to juggle
37. Build a lightsaber :starwars:
42. Do travel photography
44. Learn to do massage
45. Write a musical
56. Have a piece in an art gallery
63. Join the Mile High club :P
70. Have sex in a tub of Jell-O.
75. Find my ancestral village
78. Milk a cow
83. Ride an ostrich

Well, you get the idea. :)

I've come to realize that my lifelist isn't just items waiting to be checked off. It's really a whole philosophy of life. Of living to really live, and be unashamed of the enjoyment of existence. It's a reminder not to be mindlessly trapped in the system, but to really rejoice in the experiences that I have been given, and taking them to the fullest. :)

wow, I coulda sworn I'd responded to this post already but apparently not....before I list my personal list I've just got to take a note of one of Bri's *ahem*

Camping I have been camping about 3 times in my life and apart from when i went to V festival hated it! I would love to go on a camping trip and enjoy myself

I think this means we're definitely going to have to make the next big TP outing that Bri can attend another camping exedition. I mean who couldn't love a camping trip w/ the coolest TPunks around? Just another one of the little ways TP helps realize dreams :hypocrite: haha I love this guy -> :pope:

Ok, now on to my dreams and aspirations...(in no particular order)

- write a book
- learn all the languages it is physically possible for me to learn and be able to use them in their native land.
- Live simply. Move to a developing/underdeveloped country where the world is not caught up on money and accumulating stuff, but life and nature...and just....live. (this is my all-time dream)
- Read. As much as I can...
- work with animals and prevent as much harm as I can to the remaining wilderness we have
- ok, this one's kind of weird. survive some big catastrophe like a plane crash. I guess it has something to do with my desire to live naturally, I want to know what sorts of things I could handle....test my limits. Experience everything
- climb a glacier and a mountain
- become incredibly physically fit...really need to work on this one....
- fall in love

I Will work, and work hard, to sustain the lifestyle i wish to lead. I will not lead a lifestyle for work.

This brings me to....

I Will Climb the world, and take all Three poles.

My idea of a "dream" is something u only achieve when sleeping and not things i expect to happen for real... But okay, i won't be picky this time.
1.Become an automotive journalist (get to test drive and criticise cool cars and get paid) or an auto engineer and design/build my own cars/components
2.Ascend some world class peaks (Everest included)
3.Find the one guy, fall in love, and travel/live together happily everafter
4.Share my experiences with my loved ones when i get older
5.Keep a car for more than 6 months (...working on it :lookaround: )
6.Get real good at mountain biking and ride all the Northshore Trails with huge drop offs (like Severed Dick-that is a real trail btw!)
7.Get better at rock climbing, become a lead climber and climb the Chief in Squamish to start with, then maybe some rocks around the world.
8.Go on an adventure race/enter a triathlon someday
9.Work on my crappy relationship with my mom, that is if she lets me
10.Volunteer/work for an international/NGO to help ppl around the world
11.Join an environmental group and do big things for my home planet
As for other things, next year I'm gonna get Certified in Scuba, and some kinda yoga maybe, during my stay in Thailand, gonna bungee jump/skydive in Queenstown, NZ, and a bunch of other thing I wanted to do....I'll see where the road takes me
The good thing about me is when I say I'm going to do something it actually get's done!
This applies to me as well... I always have my goals at the back of my head and get t o them sooner or later.

I never posted in here!!

- Volunteer overseas for an extended period of time (2+ years)
- Have all my belongings in one pack
- Be fluent in at least three languages (Spanish and German being two)
- Work with special needs children
- Work with 'at risk' children
- Spend a few years, or more, working/bumming my way across the world and back again
- Take in as many different cultures and people as I can
- Be accepted as a local in at least one other country

:rulz:

I forgot this one...I always think about it:
12. to age gracefully
i don't care if i get grey hair (already have one  ) or get wrinkles around my eye. I'm not gonna want to push soooooo hard to stay young appearance-wise as long as i have a good life and take care of my health.

In a very particular order.....

Work for 2 years somewhere else.
Gamble a vast sum of money on one hand of blackjack
Learn at least one other language properly.
Teach Philosophy at University.
Write a book that will shake things up.
Give up smoking and drinking for one whole year.
Completely stop watchin or readin the news.
Express the paradox of life with one simple gesture.
Juggle seven balls and five clubs solid.
Solve the P vs NP problem (not very likely but i can dream)

I enjoyed setting those down to paper. Now i can work on realising them.

My dreams?

Move back to my native Canada
Go to University
Complete University
Travel more
Have more fun with friends

What if I graduated from college, went on to the Peace Corps and/or taught English in a third world country, traveled the world as a writer for Lonely Planet, worked for a non-profit organization educating women and helping children and refuges, stopped over in New York City for a while and wrote for Jane Magazine, went back to school and got my master's/PHD, dabbed somewhat into American Politics to became an ambassador for the Middle East or India, learned 5 languages, went on to be a professor, worked for National Geographic as a writer/photographer, lived in every major city and even more small towns/villages on every continent, resided in a monastery in Japan and learned about enlightment, wrote a book about my life, changed someone's world with my love, had a daughter.....

I wrote this a few months back. I told someone yesterday that I wanted to the cool old lady with tats that had faded over the years and short hair that was always messy and white. I wanna be wise and unique and ambitous when I get old. I never want to lose my motivation for life... Corny eh?
